Miracles often times defy logic. They can confuse the highly educated and learned individuals. The most often talked about miracles from the Bible come in forms of Sunday school stories. Seas being parted, an illogically giant boat being built, people coming back from the dead, they all seem like just that – stories. But what about all of the other miracles that happened in the Bible? There are some amazing things that happened to real people. From desperate times to being leaders of nations. The people these happened to had faith in God that He would provide for them.
If you have trouble connecting with the miracles listed in the Bible, try reading Hebrews 11. You may have heard of some crazy miracles like parting the Red Sea as the Israelites fled Pharaoh, or Noah building a massive ark, but have you heard of Sarah being blessed with a child even though any medical professional would have said she couldn’t? Have you heard of how Moses was protected from the evil government that sought to kill all infants? These are great examples of miracles that can happen to you and me every day.
11 It was by faith that even Sarah was able to have a child, though she was barren and was too old. She believed that God would keep his promise. 12 And so a whole nation came from this one man who was as good as dead—a nation with so many people that, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore, there is no way to count them. (NLT)
God’s blessings are not far-fetched. They are real and happen every day. The miracles listed in the Bible are not stories of something that only happened back then. They continue to happen each and every day to real people living real lives. Read Hebrews 11 for a good summary. You’ll find that the things listed in Hebrews 11 could happen to anyone in modern times.
